About these terms
TeamMetriq is operated by Alif Studios Limited, based at 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). These terms are the agreement between us and each team that uses TeamMetriq, and the coaches who use it for that team.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information, including information about players. It sits alongside these terms and does not form part of them.
Agreeing for your team or club
The coach who starts a team on TeamMetriq agrees to these terms on behalf of that team: for the club it belongs to, if it is part of one, or otherwise for the coaches who run it. By agreeing, you confirm that you have the authority to do so.
Coaches who join a team later use TeamMetriq under the agreement that team has made, and must follow these terms while they do.
Your account
- TeamMetriq accounts are for adults, aged 18 or over, who coach or manage a team.
- An account is for one person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us at support@teammetriq.com straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- You are responsible for what is done with your account, and for keeping your name and email address accurate.
- A team’s admins decide who can access it, and should remove access from anyone who no longer coaches with the team.
The private beta
TeamMetriq is in a private beta. Starting a team needs a beta code, and each code can start one team.
TeamMetriq is free during the beta. Because it is still being built, features may change, move or be removed, and some things may not work as they should. Please tell us when they don’t.
If we introduce paid plans, we will tell your team’s admins at least 30 days in advance. Nobody will be charged unless they choose a paid plan.
Your team’s information
The information your team records in TeamMetriq — players, assessments, ratings, matches and notes — belongs to your team. We claim no ownership of it.
You allow us to store, copy and process that information only as needed to provide TeamMetriq to your team, to keep it secure and working, and as the law requires. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to advertise to anyone.
Your team is responsible for what it records: for having the right to record it, for keeping it accurate, and for explaining to players and, where appropriate, their parents or guardians how it is used. If you would like a copy of your team’s information, email support@teammetriq.com.
Players and children
Many grassroots players are children. Children do not have TeamMetriq accounts, but coaches record information about them, so we ask every team to take particular care:
- Only record what you need for coaching and running the team.
- Do not record medical details, home addresses, school details or other sensitive information, especially in free-text notes.
- Write about players as you would be comfortable for them, or their parents, to read. They may be entitled to see it.
- Follow the safeguarding policies of your club, your league and your national football association.
TeamMetriq is not a safeguarding or reporting tool. If you are worried about a child’s welfare, contact your club’s welfare officer or your local authority, and in an emergency call 999.
TIA, our AI assistant
TIA answers questions about your team using the information your team has recorded. Its answers are generated automatically and can be incomplete or wrong.
- Treat TIA’s answers as suggestions. Decisions about your players and your team are yours.
- TIA does not give medical, injury, safeguarding or legal advice.
- Do not include personal information about players in your questions.
- A team’s admins can turn TIA off for the team.
Using TeamMetriq fairly
When you use TeamMetriq, you must not:
- break the law, or help anyone else to;
- record anything abusive, discriminatory, threatening or defamatory, about players, opponents, officials or anyone else;
- access a team, account or information you have not been given access to;
- try to break, overload or get around the security of TeamMetriq, or copy, scrape or reverse engineer it;
- use TeamMetriq, or anything from it, to build a competing product.
Our service
We work to keep TeamMetriq available and your information safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may need to pause it for maintenance, and we will try to do so without getting in the way of a match.
TeamMetriq itself — its software, design, name and logo — belongs to us. These terms let your team use it; they do not transfer any of it to you.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve TeamMetriq without owing you anything for them.
Suspending or ending
You can stop using TeamMetriq at any time. You can delete your account from your profile page, and a team’s admins can delete the team from its settings.
We may suspend or close an account or a team if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, if we need to in order to protect players or other users, or if the law requires it. Where it is appropriate, we will tell you why and give you the chance to put things right first.
If we decide to close TeamMetriq or end the beta, we will give your team’s admins at least 30 days’ notice and a way to get a copy of your team’s information. What happens to information once an account or team is closed is set out in our privacy policy.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you use TeamMetriq as a consumer, your legal rights are not affected.
Otherwise:
- We are not responsible for coaching or selection decisions, or for results, made using information in TeamMetriq, or for the accuracy of information your team records.
- We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for loss of profit, business or opportunity.
- While TeamMetriq is free, our total liability to a team and its coaches is limited to £100.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as TeamMetriq changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will tell your team’s admins before it takes effect, and may ask them to agree to the new terms before your team carries on using TeamMetriq.
The legal bits
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute about them. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland and use TeamMetriq as a consumer, you can also bring a claim in your own courts.
- If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- We may transfer this agreement to another organisation that takes over TeamMetriq, and will tell you if we do. Your rights under these terms will not be reduced.
- Nobody other than us, your team and its coaches has any right to enforce these terms.
